Try zapping it with a different spyware program, perhaps.

Spybot search and destroy, is a widely-used and well-known program. http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10122137.html <-- available here

Install it, update the definition files and try running the scan with that.

Also, check your running processes in task manager, to see if theres anything there you don't recognize. If you see something there that you know shouldn't be there, kill it's process before running Spybot S&D

Spybot tells you what it has found, and gives you options of what to do with it.

Running Ad-Aware also wouldn't hurt. I use Ad-Aware and Spybot. Oh and Windows Defender also, though I'm not entirely sure that it does anything.

Also make sure that your anti-virus is actually running, sometimes a virus is programmed to terminate most common av programs.

First, download LSP-Fix,spybot, and ad-aware, look it up on download.com. Then run your computer in safe-mode where most likely nothing but windows itself runs and try scanning to see if it works then. If it does, try to remove everything it finds and if you lose internet connection use the LSP-Fix tool and the only things that should be in there are: mswsock.dll, winrnr.dll, and rsvpsp.dll. Anything else should be deleted.

...reseted it a couple times and works better, the 'spyware doctor' works fairly good...even thought i still get some pop-ups...well thanks for all the help
on Jun 30, 2006
the wierd thing is that half of the popups are ads of anit-spy ware and ad ware...thats is some sort of oxymoron...
on Jun 30, 2006
...is it nessesary to get spyware and ad ware?
on Jun 30, 2006

Avast V4.0 Home edition is free for personal use for antivirus

Regarding spyware or trojans ,you will find that you would be better turning off system restore then booting into safe mode as the scanners won't be able to remove any of them out of the restore folder coz if you use syst rest to go back to a previous state you may reinstall the offending ware.

EDIT: Jaramia : The ware you mention is a known trick whereby they install crap on your comp or give false pop ups to force you into buying there app which you don't need, Adaware ,spybot, windows defender, should be able to remove any spyware you have.
