Go to the adobe website, where you'll find a plethora of add-ons/files etc. that will help you immensly.

It's a great place to get ideas & resources too.

I use PSCS andhave for about a year. I'm still kind of a novice. I am unfamiliar with 'layer styles'. I checked the link and saw a tutorila (pretty nice one, too). What are you looking for? More tutorials? Or do these layer styles (this really shows what a novice I am) come in presets you can install? If the latter, I would love to know how. I have a few I use that I would love to make presets.

these come in presets thats why a beginner could find them usful, to make them u just add all the drop shadows, glows ect. and then in the 'Styles' window at there is a button that makes 'new style' and u name it wat u want...

At my link above, you'll find over 1000 styles which are all able to be dropped into the 'styles' folder in Photoshop. Many/most of them have thumbnails so you can decide whether they are the ones you want or not. Many have also been rated for usability etc, which helps in your decision.

So as not to bloat PS too much, I usually keep my styles & add-on's in a separate folder outside of PS ~and access them as necessary.

You do need to make sure whether they are compatible with your version of PS. Though most of them are labeled as to which versions they work with.

Also, you need to be signed up to download anything from there ...but it's free.

If you have PS open when you drop the files into their relevant folders, you'll need to close out and re-start PS for them to be acessible.

I also use Jaramia's method described above, if I come up with a particularly interesting style I want to keep when playing around with PS.

Po and Jaramia go here http://share.studio.adobe.com/axBrowseProduct.asp?p=2
This is the adobe studio exchange. They have tons of layer styles and brushes, gradients etc. you can spend hours at this site. you can register for free. The registration has nothing to do with photoshop. Some of the styles and brushes are version specific, but not many. CS & CS 2 are usually backwards compatable. Po.....Layer styles are really fun. I used them to make all of my logonshttps://www.wincustomize.com/MySkins.aspx . They really help, but I will give you this bit of advice. DON"T load a bunch into your styles folder. create a new one in your documents or mabey your photos folder and download most of them there.. I learned that the hard wayas they all don't show up when you too many in there! I have a ton! It can be addicting!
Jaramia.......you could also do a google search, but put quotes around layer styles. you will have a little bit smaller(not much) hits list.
